Spencer Hill Wines

Spencer Hill Wines produces Latitude 41 wines, which are made from a blend of Nelson and Marlborough grapes both located along latitude 41. Bottled with a Zork closure. And dressed with a vine cutting. 

 

Latitude 41: Pinot Gris 2020

Tasting notes:
A crisp Pinot Gris that will surprise your taste buds pear and spice flavours are evident in
this wonderful wine just about every year.
Further light aging on special French oak and lee’s provides a hint of vanilla and cream. Grown on heavier soils that are required for full flavoured
Pinot Gris.

Colour: Brilliant light copper colour Bouquet:
Hints of pear, spice and vanilla.

Palate: Good mouth filling structure of pear,
white peach, ripe green apple. Very crisp and sweet fruit.

Packaging: 12 x 750ml with Screw Cap.

Latitude 41: Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Tasting notes:
Made from a selection of Nelson grapes from the plains and are associated with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and our very different winemaking techniques Vintage Conditions: A cool Spring and warm summer Provided f or excellent growing conditions. Harvest temperatures were cool and harvest was prolonged keeping great acid-sugar balance.

Bottling Date: November 2019

Colour: Brilliant pale yellow

Bouquet: Gooseberry and tropical fruits.

Palate: A rich wine that has ripe fruit flavours with good acid balance. Not too sweet or acidic… just right. Good length and structure to make the wine more than a flash in the pan.

Latitude 41: Pinot Noir 2017

Tasting notes:
his wine is made from a selection of Nelson grapes from the Upper Moutere. The result is a full bodied wine that has layers of fruit flavours that are associated with the different soil types and climatic conditions of each individual block

Palate: Good structure and length with mouth filling richness of berry fruits and sweet, smoky oak.

Bouquet: Cherries and strawberry with hints of sweet, vanilla oak.

Colour: Brilliant dark red cherry

Latitude 41: Chardonnay 2019

Tasting notes:
This wine is made from a selection of Nelson grapes from the Upper Moutere. The result is
a full bodied wine that has layers of fruit flavours that are associated with the different soil types
and climatic conditions in the Moutere.
Vintage Conditions: The early growing season
was cool with a warm summer. These conditions and slow ripening produced
good acid balance and mouth filling flavours. Clone 15 and Mendoza.

Vinification: The grapes were crushed into the press without skin contact. The juice was fermented
and aged for eight months on high spice and high vanilla French oak. The wine went through complete malolactic fermentation. Lees exposure during aging helped provide structure and mouth feel.

Colour: Brilliant lemon yellow Bouquet:
Tropical fruit, spicy and vanilla overtones.

Palate: A rich, big wine that has a long finish. Creamy, buttery and a touch of oatmeal.
